Inspired by one of Amalfi’s most emotional and symbolic traditions, this T-shirt celebrates the legendary Race of Saint Andrew (Corsa di Sant’Andrea) — the spectacular procession in which the statue of the Saint is carried at a run up the majestic staircase of the Amalfi Cathedral.

Devotion to Saint Andrew dates back to 1208, when the Apostle’s relics arrived in Amalfi from distant Constantinople. Since then, the town has become one of the most important spiritual centers dedicated to the fisherman Saint.

Today, this tradition continues to live on with the same passion, faith, and community spirit.

Every year, Amalfi honors its Patron Saint through two very different celebrations:

• June 27th — the great summer festival, vibrant and spectacular, commemorating the miracle of 1544, when Saint Andrew is believed to have protected Amalfi from a pirate attack.

• November 30th — the liturgical feast day, more intimate and spiritual, dedicated to remembrance, prayer, and the religious identity of the Amalfi community.
