The Magic of the Little Houses

This design was born more than twenty-five years ago, when I was living with my parents on Via Ercolano Marini, in the home of my beloved Uncle Barone.

The inspiration came from a phrase engraved on a ceramic tile at the entrance of the house:

Parva domus, magna quies
Small house, great peace.

Just a few words, yet they perfectly capture the true soul of Amalfi.

The houses of Amalfi are often small, nestled among narrow alleys, stairways, and ancient arches. Yet once you step inside, a world of silence, serenity, and tranquility unfolds. A precious sense of peace, far from the noise and rush of everyday life, that has always been part of our town’s character.

With this design, I wanted to capture that feeling: the magic of Amalfi seen through memories, colors, symbols, and emotions that have accompanied my childhood and my life.

Every house, every shape, and every detail tells a part of our story. The colorful domes, the Cathedral, the sea, the boats, the winding alleys, and the hidden shelters nestled among the mountains become symbols of a place unlike any other in the world.

This artwork is a tribute to my family, to the memories of those years, and to the privilege of living in an extraordinary land where beauty is found not only in the landscape, but also in the ability to discover peace and harmony in the simplest things.
